Operations Duty Officer – Temporary, Full & Part Time Positions (with potential for permanent)

Ford Aviation Services is growing quickly with summer soon upon us, we are looking for more colleagues to join us in our Operations Team as Duty Officer. We are looking for candidates to join our friendly, experienced team to start at the beginning of May 2023. The successful candidates will play a key part in our operations team and help deliver a range of services to our tour operator and airline customers. Our offices (with free parking) are well situated in Lowfield Heath, right next to Gatwick Airport.

 

            Job Title:                     Operations Duty Officer – Summer 2023

 

            Purpose:                     Manage the day to operational activities of Ford Aviation Services

 

            Reporting to:              Operations Manager

 

            Responsibilities:     - Monitoring and managing the flight programme

                                                - Dealing with flight disruption including arranging flights, hotels and transport

                                                - Liaising with airlines, airports and handling agents

                                                - Pre-flight data processing including PNL/ADL’s

                                                - Baggage claim handling and processing

                                                - Assisting Ops Manager in preparation of flying programme in fixture system

                                                - Programme checks and updates

                                                - Liaison and communications with clients regarding operational matters

                                                - Various other tasks supporting the Ops Manager and the business

 

            Skills and Experience: - Minimum 2 years broad airline/airport operations experience

                                                - Handling of aircraft delays and diversions

                                                - Experience of dealing PNL’s and ADL’s desirable

                                                - Experience in Eurocontrol NOP systems desirable

                                                - Experience of flight planning and permits desirable

                                                - Tour Operations experience desirable

                                                - Working under own initiative without supervision under pressure

                                                - Good ability in MS word, excel and databases

 

            Person Specification: - Team player, flexible and willing to take on new tasks

                                                - Calm, focused, trustworthy and able to work under pressure

                                                - Organised and able to work to procedures and problem solve

                                                - Self-motivated and able to work with high degree of autonomy

                                                - Friendly personality and able to work alone or as part of small team

                                                - Eligible to work in the UK
